Missions

Our Papua New Guinea team had a really successful ministry at the first women's conference for the Church of God in that country.  We went at the invitation of the representative, Pastor Aiya Pokoi.

MWC supports mission works in Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Israel, Life Gate (rehabilitation) in Melbourne, and Samaritan's Place (orphanage) in the Philippines.

Community Outreach
MWC encourages its members to share the love of Christ with the community through:

  • The hospital chaplaincy program
  • Special Religious Education (SRE) in public schools
  • Gideon Bible Society
  • Community assistance-based organizations based on Christian principles
  • "We Care" Benevolence Ministry

Regardless of your interests, spiritual gifts or talents, there is a place for you!

Children's Ministry
Oscar Fiu, Ministry Director
Our structure is to divide the children into two groups: 4-6 years and 7+ years. This is so that we can tailor the lesson to suit the different age needs. Children are always well supervised by our teachers. As important as learning is, it is equally important for them to be in a safe environment. We ask only that if a child has a special need, i.e. inhaler, etc, that the teacher would be informed. Parents are more than welcome to sit in on any classes.
They asked Jesus, “Do you hear the things these children are saying?” Jesus answered “yes, haven’t you read in the scriptures, you have taught babies to sing praises?” (Mathew 21:16 NCV)
“You must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:14-15 NKJV)

What is Children’s Ministry?
One of the many different ministries of MWC is our children’s ministry. Known as "Kids Alive," it is based on the idea that learning about God should be fun and exciting. As believers we know that Christ has conquered death, that He is alive today, and therefore we should be alive in him. The Word of God is not just an account of things that happened long ago, but it’s a fountain of truth and wisdom, giving new life to all who hear it. So what greater gift could we teach our children! As God’s Word lasts for all eternity, we hope that in teaching His Word, it will remain with our children all throughout their lives.

What is involved in each lesson?
We use curriculum provided by Christian Education Publications; however, each teaching is inspired directly from the Word. There is no better teacher’s aid than the Word itself. Each lesson is planned prior to that week and can include many different ways of delivering the message. Some include reading writing, arts and crafts, games and quizzes, singing, physical activities, plays and skits. The possibilities are limited only by the creativeness of the teacher. Remember, it should be fun! Through these ways we hope to engage and motivate children to learn.

Young Married Couples Ministry
At MWC we believe that the only way you can enjoy your marriage to the fullest is by letting Jesus Christ be King of your relationship. We encourage couples to base their relationship on the Word of God and let their lives and relationships revolve around their Creator. We attend Bible studies and also meet periodically over dinner.

"We Care" Benevolence Ministry

MWC has this minstry in memory of Noeline Lawrence. We want to show our concern and care for those in our congregation who have needs, as well as those in the community.
